He said the arrested were involved in the conspiracy to kill Bibin and Thufail was also a member of the gang which earlier attempted to kill Bibin.
The second accused of the murder of Islamic convert Kodinhi Faisal (Anilkumar), Bipin, 24, from Poyilisssery in Triprangod was hacked to death at Tirur early morning on August 24. Bibin, who was arrested in connection with Faisal murder in February, was granted conditional bail by the District and Sessions Court in Manjeri in April.
Police had interrogated around hundred persons in connection with the controversial murder of Bibin, which is believed to be in retaliation to the murder of Faisal. The BJP has already demanded a detailed probe by National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the murder.
According to DySP, the investigation team has received the clear information about the killers and the arrest of the more persons who are directly involved in the crime will be made soon. “We have already confirmed that the murder was an act of vengeance and the arrest of others who are involved in the case would be held soon”, he said.
The accused in the Faizal murder case were receiving death threats from extremist groups, after their arrest. But police failed to provide security to the accused who were out on bail.
On August 3, T Lijeesh, 27, the 14th accused of the case who was out on bail, had a miraculous escape after a gold coloured Innova rammed his motorbike at Alinchuvadu near Parappanangadi. Police later confirmed that it was a murder attempt. The DySP said that the gang once dropped the plan to kill Bibin, after they fail to trace him in a vehicle. But Bibin was not aware of this attempt.
